This project consisted of a teaser animation released via email, and a short module created in Rise. It was assigned to global leaders to remind them of the importance of them in modelling good conduct, particularly with the return to international travel following Covid.

The content covered ranged from avoiding accidental misunderstandings around cultural differences and avoiding assumptions that might lead to conflict. It also covered the impact of deliberate bullying and harassment on individuals and the organisation, alongside resources for assistance if needed, and a reminder of expectations. &nbsp; The tone was particularly important given the delicacy of the subject matter. The course content needed to connect with learners without them feeling defensive or dismissive that it did not apply to them. This required close collaboration with internal subject matter experts and project sponsors, as well as finding relatable examples to ensure authenticity. The learner rating on this course was an average of 4.89 out of 5, with several comments referring to the value of the course for all leaders, a request for it to be assigned further, and reference to how relevant, useful and thought-provoking it was. &nbsp; Notes: All elements were created and built by myself. The module was built in Articulate Rise, and included an embedded Storyline scenario element. Kinetic text animation was created in Adobe After Effects.

Our Behaviour Matters

The brief for this project was to develop an engaging quiz-style game to be part of a learning campaign to help build learning culture across the organisation.

The owl (the brand mascot) asks a series of questions about how to gain the most from learning time. At each correct answer, the owl flies up to the next branch, aiming to reach the top. The game uses mechanics such as reward and mastery to enhance the experience for the learner. The final celebration of reaching the top of the tree is rewarding and fun, building positive emotional connections with the learner and raising awareness of the learning resources available in a subtle way. &nbsp; Notes: This game was built entirely from the ground up in Articulate Storyline (including owl animation and leaves falling) using stock sound effects, and graphics edited in Adobe Illustrator. The final confetti animation was built in After Effects. The sample here has been white-labelled.

Forest Learning Game

One of the objectives of this three-day onboarding event was to define the scope of newly created senior leadership roles within a complex matrix environment.

While the 3 day event was a much larger collaboration, these sample slides show one element - a workshop session where participants were guided by a facilitator to complete an in-depth RACI activity for their new roles. &nbsp; The value of this workshop was not necessarily in the output (although it was very productive) but in the discussions that happened in the room. This face to face workshop was designed to: • surface assumptions and align on expectations with peers to create a network of practice • provide the opportunity to debate and clarify responsibilities • find any areas of dissent to ensure follow up in the areas that still needed clarity. &nbsp; Notes: Slides created in PowerPoint. The sample shown here has been white labelled to only show the structure of the event and not the specific details.

Country Leader Onboarding Event

The brief for this project was for an accessible and light touch, yet robust, short online course for employees of small to medium businesses on how to avoid becoming victims of fraud.

The course consists of a mix of short animated videos, interactive mini-modules, and downloadable worksheets. Through storytelling we follow a relatable character through a series of encounters with attempted fraud. Interactive modules allow the learner to test their knowledge, and the downloadable worksheets allow a business to take time to examine their own vulnerabilities and think about processes to help protect against fraud. &nbsp; Notes: This course is publicly available, so has not been white labelled. Learning design and script was my responsibility, but the full course came about through collaboration with a team of very talented visual designers, animators, developers and voiceover artists.

Fighting Fraud Together

The brief for this campaign was to create an impactful, gamified learning experience to help change the perception of data as a topic within a bank, our client. It needed to be very engaging, to appeal to colleagues at all levels of the company, and to influence positive behaviour change.

The solution was a deep collaboration with the learning team at the client, and included an extended creative design phase. The design went through a number of iterations and involved a very high level of involved stakeholder engagement. &nbsp; The campaign consisted of five interconnected elements - an internal information campaign managed by the internal team, and four games to be provided to the client. Each game was connected under the umbrella of the learner becoming a ‘Data Ambassador’, and going through a mock certification programme. &nbsp; Games 1 to 3 were intended as quick mobile first games. The first was a quiz to diagnose the learner’s data persona - their current level of comfort with data. Games 2 and 3 were simple ‘card swipe’ quiz games with a satisfying high scoring mechanic. These games gave a score that was entered into the final game to give the player their starting resources using codes. &nbsp; The final game was a scenario-based game, where an AI Assistant would help you use your resources and the power of data to assist various teams across the business. Throughout the game were also included ‘bonus’ rounds that could reward higher scores and more resources. Finally, the learner was badged as Bronze, Silver or Gold level Data Ambassador, depending on their performance across all the games. &nbsp; Notes: The game is not available outside of the bank, so only screenshots are included here. Learning design and script was my responsibility, but this solution was a large project and required very sophisticated technical development and game mechanics, using all the creative talents of our full team of visual designers, developers and game mechanics specialists.

Data Literacy Gamified Campaign

This project was subject matter expert (SME) onboarding. This included training sessions and an online module.

The onboarding was designed to help brand new SMEs to understand how we would work together to create online modules to supplement their classroom courses. The onboarding included a short animated explainer on what instructional design is, and guidance on what to expect from the process, how to use the project management tools and information on the quality assurance. &nbsp; Note: Only the ‘What is Instructional Design?’ video is shared here, which was part of the larger digital module. Initial concept, learning design and scripting was mine, voiceover and animation provided by my design colleagues at the time.
